The 3rd International conference of Trisomy 21 Research Society (T21RS) will be held in Barcelona from 6 to 9th of June 2019. These four days event will discuss many aspects of Down syndrome research from development to aging, including Alzheimer’s disease, and clinical trials in an informal academic setting. Topics for discussion will include molecular mechanisms, animal modelling, drug discovery and care. A specific session will be organized by the Science and Society committee and will include presentation by family associations and satellite courses on preclinical and clinical aspects of Down syndrome research are planned. With plenty of opportunity for networking and debating, this informal international meeting will bring you up to date with current research and thinking regarding Down syndrome. It will be a great chance for the presentation of results within the framework of HEROES project.
In April 2014, a core group of Down syndrome investigators established the T21RS, an international professional organization for those engaged in Down syndrome research. The Society provides a nexus for organizing communication between researchers and with organizations that have the means to disseminate this news to families, to assure that young researchers see the excitement and potential of a career in a rapidly advancing area of research that is contributing to the quality of life for people with Down syndrome every day. As part of this mission, the Society hosts a biannual international meeting of investigators. Previous conference in Paris (2015) and Chicago (2017) showed an increased attendance of students and post-doctoral fellows. These young investigators represent the next generation of Down syndrome researchers.
Registration and abstract submission will open October 30, 2018. You can visit the T21RS Meeting website for more information: http://t21rs2019.com/
