Juan Luis Musoles joins HEROES project

Juan Luis Musoles joined the HEROES project on January 2019 as a technician in Dr. Dierssen’s lab (Partner 1). Juan Luis has a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences. He is involved in the histological analysis of the noradrenergic system of mouse models of neurodegenerative diseases. He combines stereological counting of noradrenergic neurons in the main noradrenergic nucleus, locus coeruleus with the analysis of their projections to target areas related to cognition. To this aim, he is using entire cleared brain, performing mesoscopic imaging and applying an analytical pipeline based on tractography principles. We hope that such imaging-derived information can contribute to identifying the impact of noradrenergic degeneration in the studied diseases. HEROES team welcomes him.
